Anyim, Egwu, others say PDP will reclaim Ebonyi Govt House in 2023

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, and Senator representing Ebonyi North at the National Assembly, Sam Egwu, and other party leaders in Ebonyi State have vowed that the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim the Ebonyi State Government House in 2023.

The two PDP leaders in the state added that the party will also take over all the elective positions in the state.

Anyim who was also former Senate President and Egwu, a former governor of the state and others spoke in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital during PDP State Executive Council (SEC) meeting.

Anyim said “all I know is that Ebonyi government house belongs to PDP. We put somebody there, he ran away. We will pick another person and put them there in 2023.”

Egwu in his part said “I want to assure that you will not be disappointed in your belief in PDP. By God’s grace, by the next elections, as usual, we shall take over all positions including the governorship.

“It has happened before, it has always been PDP for Ebonyi State and nothing can change it. I want you to remain steadfast, continue where you are, you are on the right part, you are on the right party and very soon, those who don’t believe will believe.”

Also in his remarks, the member representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Livinus Makwe, said the party will sack the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the federal and state levels.

“PDP will take over the federal government not just Ebonyi State in 2023 because PDP is a party that when they are in power, the people of Nigeria are happy and you see good things coming up. But since these people came, it’s only killings that we are seeing. By 2023, all those things will become things of the past,” he opined.

The member representing Ezza South state constituency in the state House of Assembly, Chris Usulour, also said the party will remain united to ensure overwhelming victory in the 2023 elections.

National Vice Chairman of the party, South-East, Chief Ali Odefa, said that PDP has all that is needed to take over the state in 2023 and will resist rigging of the general elections to the core.

Odefa said, “do not panic, come 2023, no man born of woman can write results against PDP.”

Earlier, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Fred Udeogu, commended members of the House of Assembly, senators from the state and others for their maximum support and sustenance of the party.

“They have made sacrifices, showed steadfastness and given support to the party which needs to return to power in the state.

“My gratitude also goes to the south-east zonal committee for their supports as well,” he said.
