THERE was apprehension in Ilobu community of Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State, on Friday, following the discovery by the police of a ritualists’ den where suspected shallow graves of victims, dungeon and shrines were located.

Sunday Tribune gathered that the discovery was made following a tip-off from members of the public.

As of the time of filing this report, two brothers of the same parent had been arrested by the police, while the gang’s kingpin is said to be on the run.

Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, who led his men to the location, confirmed to Sunday Tribune that concerted efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing kingpin and others involved in the nefarious acts and bring them to justice.

The ritualists’ den, a building with many shrines and several adjoining houses, said to be used by the suspected ritualists for their operations, was located at Molete area of the community,

Addressing journalists at the scene of the crime, Adeoye said: “We acted on a reliable tip off, which led to the arrest of two brothers of same parents, while their kingpin and leader is still at large.”

Findings showed that there is a dungeon with a path that connected shrines together, just as there were objects such as statues and sizable number of alcoholic bottles scattered around the shrines, with shallow graves dug by the suspects for their victims also spotted.

The police explained that investigation was still on over the ritualists’ den.
