ANUA cautions against unlawful acts, commends CVC

THE Association of Nigeria Universities Alumni (ANUA) has cautioned against unlawful acts and advised those dealing with the body representing the interests of alumni associations to be wary of unregistered associations.

The association, headed by Dr Stephen Olawale Fasakin, charged Nigerians and the Committee of Vice-Chancellors to be wary not to be misled by so as unregistered associations.

A statement by ANUA Public Relations Officer, Mr Odinakachukwu C. Ukabam, made available to the Nigerian Tribune, held that Association of Nigeria Universities Alumni under the leadership of Dr Stephen Olawale Fasakin, is the only registered body to represent the interests of alumni associations.

Ukabam said no other association with such objectives is known to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), pointing out that a statement credited to one Professor Ahmed Tijani Mora against this fact was “unfortunate and incorrect.”

He warned the public not to be deceived by Conference of Alumni Associations of Nigerian Universities (CAANU), noting that “the last time we checked, Association of Nigeria Universities Alumni is the only registered association for the protection of the interests of alumni associations in Nigeria having registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission on August 24, 2020 with registration number (RC CAC/IT/No 150336.”
