Aniagwu, 17 others make commissioners list in Delta

Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, on Thursday sent the names of 18 persons as commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The nominees include 11 former members of the immediate past executive council and six new ones.

The old members include Mr Charles Aniagwu, who was the commissioner for information, Dr Barry Gbe, economic development; Mr Ifeanyi Egwuyenga, youth development; Chief Arthur Akpowowo, urban renewal; and Chief Festus Ochonogor, housing.

Others include Sir Fidelis Tilijie, finance; Engineer Lawrence Ejiofor, culture; Mrs Flora Alatan, women affairs and community development, Chris Onogba, environment, Mr Julius Egbedi, agriculture and Churchill Amagada.

The new nominees are Engineer Jonathan Igworiwoh, Honourable Evelyn Oboro, a former member of the house of representatives, Engineer Noel Omordon, Mrs Rose Esenwu, Princess Shola Ogbemi-Daibo, Barrister Kate Oniawan, and Mr John Onyema.

The Speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who read the names of the nominees at the floor of the house during plenary directed them to submit twenty-five copies of their curriculum vitae to the office of the Clark on or before June 21.
