Anambra poly to commence HND programmes soon —Management

Management of the Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, has disclosed that the polytechnic will soon commence its Higher National Diploma programmes in the institution.

The rector of the institution, Dr Nneka Mefor, who made the disclosure during the fourth and fifth matriculation ceremonies for the National Diploma students of the Polytechnic, held at the school’s auditorium recently, noted that the HND programmes would commence in earnest, once the challenges of the ongoing projects, improved condition of service, recruitment of more staff and other infrastructural development in the Institution were addressed.

While advising the new students to commit themselves to self discipline, studious and meritorious living, Dr Mefor announced that the polytechnic would organise awards in recognition of the best students, both in character and learning, to encourage undergraduates to be good ambassadors   of their families and the society at large.

She also urged the parents and stakeholders to work together with the institution to actualise its dream of modeling the character and attitude of Nigerian students.

The rector noted that the polytechnic aspired to be recognised as the best in innovation, research and general service delivery in all disciplines, noting that there was need for private sector’s financial support, as the Anambra State government could not do it alone.

In an interview, some of the matriculating students appealed to the government to construct more classroom blocks and hostels for more conducive learning and teaching.
