SDP
The Anambra State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), is set to organize a One Million Man-march to solicit support from electorates and other relevant stakeholders for the party, ahead of November 6, 2021 governorship election in the state.
Chairman of the party in the state, Dr Webster Okonkwo, who disclosed this in a statement, he made available to Journalists in Awka, on Monday, said the mobilization movement will involve other special groups, students and youth who are seriously in need of change and it will take place the third week of April 2021.
Okonkwo said they would embark on a door-to-door campaign for the party in all the 326 political wards in the state to educate and sensitise the electorate to vote for whoever fly the party’s ticket.
“We are organising a one-million stakeholders march across the 326 wards in the 21 local government areas of Anambra state, third week of April, 2021 to garner more support for whoever emerges our party candidate ahead of the elections,” he added.
He said the march is to show the readiness of the Anambra electorate to usher in a new era in Anambra politics, an era when the generality of our people will have a say in what affects them unlike the present situation where a few preside over the affairs of the greater majority.
The one million March also is to demonstrate the desire of Ndi-Anambra for FRESH AIR, the people are truly tired of the old parties (PDP, APC, and APGA), they want something fresh and SDP represents that freshness.
Okonkwo, urged eligible voters who yielded for accountability, transparency and good governance in Anambra state to join the march.
