The African Action Congress (AAC) Gubernatorial Primary Election in Anambra has presented Obi Sylvester Chukwudozie as its flag bearer for the State Gubernatorial Polls in November, this year.
The Chairman of the party’s Electoral Committee Engr. Francis Abayomi who also is the party’s National Treasurer announced Obi Sylvester Chukwudozie as the winner after the counting of votes monitored and witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC today.
A statement issued by Sylvester Cletus, National Publicity Secretary, AAC, and said “the election which was organized by the Electoral Committee set up by the party for the election was chaired by Engr. Francis Abayomi, with Ms Patience Ezekiel and Mr Sylvester Cletus, Financial Secretary and Publicity Secretary as Secretary and member respectively.”
“Obi Sylvester Chukwudozie, 41, who is from Ifitedunu Dunukofia Local Government, a doctoral degree candidate defeated Engr. Victor Anaedozie, 34, an accomplished professional with deep management experience in a well-fought campaign to fly the party’s flag,” the statement added.
The state further stated that the election which held at Ubatel Hotel and Suites, Awka, Anambra State in the presence of Security Officials and Press brought to end months of horse-trading involving several aspirants that jostled for the party’s ticket for the November 6, 2021 polls in the state.
In his acceptance speech, Obi promised to work diligently for the Anambra people, considering the party slogan “Putting our people first” to help in building a people-oriented government rooted in equity, fairness and justice.
He said, “If elected Governor come November 6th, 2021, I will work diligently on the mandate of good governance for the people of Anambra State to put the people first in all aspects of governance.
“Engr Victor, who came second in the polls in accepting the outcome of the polls thanked the delegates and leadership of the party for a rancour-free primary and encouraged the party to work hard for it to win the gubernatorial polls.
“The National Chairman of the party and Chairman Inter-Party Advisory Council(IPAC), Dr Leonard Nzenwa, who was present also thanked the Party delegates and reminded them to take into cognisance the leadership challenges bedevilling the Nation and the Party relentless commitment in restructuring the country for the betterment of all,” the statement added.
