Alafin of Oyo loses actress niece to chronic ulcer

A veteran actress, Motunrayo Adeoye, has died. The Nigerian movie industry has been thrown again into a state of mourning at the loss of another of their own.

According to multiple sources, Adeoye died at wee hours of June 2018 at her home in Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan, Oyo State after a protracted battle with chronic ulcer and will be buried in accordance to the Islamic rites.

Her painful demise is happening just after the industry laid to rest another of their own, Aisha Abimbola a week ago.
Madam Adeoye was a well-known name in Nollywood.

She was among the 10 most featured Veteran Yoruba actresses in the industry. She was a niece to a top class traditional ruler in Yoruba Land, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, The Alafin of Oyo, Oyo State.

She graduated from Osogbo Technical College, Osun State where she studied Electronics before she later went to Switzerland for a 7 months course to acquire more knowledge about the profession.

She joined BCOS Communication, Ibadan as a studio/audio engineer in the 70s. The job she undertook for about 40 years before she got her retirement in 2010.

After her retirement, she joined the movie industry to hone her skills in acting. Her role in Kunle Afod’s hit movie, Igbekun won her some accolades in the industry.
