The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Mr. Olugbenga Edema, has described the victory of governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the just concluded governorship election in the state as evidence of his acceptability by all the people of the state.
Edema who stated this in a congratulatory statement signed by him noted that Akeredolu’s victory is not only for his political family and the APC but victory for democracy and all the people of Ondo state.
Edema said: “The election was exciting, pluralistic and portraits democracy at its best. A landslide faithfully reflecting the will of the people and proving beyond any iota of doubt that your service was acceptable.
“An impetus for greater achievement and more abundance of dividends of democracy. After all, the productive servant in the Holy Book who traded profitably with the given talents were blessed with additional allocations.”
The OSOPADEC Chairman said that he was confident that the renewed mandate will further reinvigorate the zeal to develop the oil producing area and complete the numerous projects already begun to transform the lives of the people.
Similarly, a traditional head in the southern senatorial district of the state, the Jagunmolu of Ikale land, Gen. Olu Bajowa (Rtd) has congratulated Ondo State governor, Akeredolu over his victory at the poll, saying the victory is well deserved.

Bajowa said, ” I join all well wishers to congratulate you and members of your family on your resounding victory at the recently concluded Gubernatorial elections in Ondo state, our Sunshine state.”
The retired Army General said that the re- election of Akeredolu is a testimony of the confidence and trust which the electorate reposed in him based on his performance during the Governor’s first term in office.
“Your Excellency, your re-election is a testimony of the confidence and trust which the electorate reposed in you based on your performance during your first term in office,” the General said.
” It is the hope of all and sundry in Ondo State that you will replicate with further improvement on your antecedent, particularly in your promise for the exploration and exploitation of Bitumen and the development of the deep sea port at the Southern senatorial District of Ondo State.”

Bajowa further said, “of equal significance are the promises of the APC Government for the provision of electricity to alleviate the power outage challenge, provision of potable water and motorable roads and to facilitate industrialisation in the Southern Senatorial District; the reactivation of the moribund Oil palm industry at Okitipupa and Oluwa Glass industry at Igbokoda, in order to bring dividends of Democracy to the people at the grassroots of the Southern Senatorial District and make life more abundant for the people of the catchment areas.”
Akeredolu was declared winner of the October 10 governorship election in the state, polling 292,830 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Eyitayo Jegede of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 195,791.
