Akeredolu nominates Kudehinbu to head Civil Service Commission, seeks Assembly’s approval

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has requested the Ondo State House of Assembly to confirm a former Head of the State Public Service, Mr. Ajose Kudehinbu and Mr. Festus Olaleye Akinyeke as the Chairman and a member of the State Civil Service Commission respectively.

This was contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun, the governor said the request is pursuant to the powers conferred on him by Section 197 (1)(a) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Amended).

A retired career officer, Kudehinbu holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB), Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English Language.

He is a member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and Royal Institute of Public Administration, United Kingdom, while Akinyeke Festus Olaleye, a seasoned teacher, retired as Tutor-General in the state.

Akeredolu urged the lawmakers to give timely consideration and approval to his request.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has hailed the appointment of Princess Oladunni Odu as the new Secretary to the Ondo State Government.

The party in a statement issued and signed by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Alex Kalejaye, who said the appointment is the reward for Odu’s unalloyed loyalty and sacrifice, assuring that the new SSG will justify the confidence reposed in her.

“The party views the crop of personalities so far appointed into this government as a positive indicator that the unquantifiable achievements of the Rotimi Akeredolu-led administration in the first term would be a child’s play, when compared with what to expect in this second term.

“Ondo APC hails the uncanny ability of the governor to fish out some of the best within the fold to man strategic positions, in the interest of efficient running of government, and greater service delivery,” the statement said.
