The death has occurred of the Niger State Correspondent of the African Independent Television (AIT), Mallam Muhammad Danladi Ibrahim.
He died some few hours after a ghastly motor accident on Thursday in Minna, the Niger state capital.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Chairman and Secretary of the Niger State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Niger State Council, Yakubu Mustapha and Daniel Atori, copies of which were made available to newsmen on Friday in Minna, saying, “with total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we received with shock the sudden death of a dedicated, hardworking and gentle colleague.”
The statement added that “until his death, Mallam Muhammad Danladi Abubakar was Niger State Correspondent of the African Independent Television (AIT).”
He was described as a dedicated and pious Muslim who stood for what he believed in, adding that “We will surely miss him, especially his commitment to the union activities in the state, for being passionate about the growth and development of our dear profession in all ramifications.”
Danladi who was in his early 50s is survived by a wife, four children and an aged mother.
The statement however prayed that “May his gentle soul rest in peace and may God grant his family and the media world the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
The remains of the deceased Journalist were laid to rest on Friday morning in accordance with the Islamic rites of passage at the Muslims Burial Ground along Dutdhen Kura road- Kure Market – Kpankungu community after the Janais prayers were said at Mypa Schools junction, Dutsen Kura Gwari, Minna.
