Ahmadiyya rewards winners of quiz competition in Oyo

THE Oyo State chapter of the youth wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Majlis Khuddam-ul Ahmadiyya (MKAN), has organised its third Inter-District Quiz Competition and rewarded outstanding participants.

According to the organisers, the competition was designed to encourage students to widen their secular and Islamic knowledge to enable them to compete favourably with their counterparts in the society.

“Students from 10 districts across Oyo State participated in the competition. Each of the well-prepared teams was asked questions and the students impressed the audience with their in-depth knowledge and performances.

“The following were declared winners at the end of the competition: Junior Category – Muhammad Munawwar and Musa Muhammad Murshood (Monatan), Abdullah Badejo and Saleemur Rahman Faizan (Ibadan); Mid-Senior Category – Khalid Aayatullah Adewale and AbdulRaheem Mahmud (Apata); and Senior Category – Oladapo Radiyah and Salaudeen Umar Ayomide (Omi Adio).

“Cheques of N60,000, N40,000 and N30,000 were presented to the winners in the Senior Category, Mid-Senior Category and Junior Category, respectively,” the organisers said.

The event, which was chaired by Professor AbdurRahman Abdullah of Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, was graced by the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation, Dr Taofeek Sanni and other officers of the jama’at.

The day was also used to honour members of the Majlis who have excelled in their academic careers.
