Ahmadiyya Muslim Community begins annual conference in UK today

MEMBERS of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the United Kingdom, under the auspices of Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK, will converge on Haddeqah Ahmad, formerly Oakland Farm, UK,  between today,  August 6 and, Sunday,  August 8, for its 2021 Jalsa Salana (Islamic conference).

A statement by the coordinator of the Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA) International Africa, Nigeria Studios, Dr Qasim Akinreti, said the event would be broadcast live on www.mta.tv channels to millions of homes globally.

Attendance at the event, according to the statement, is for UK residents only and strictly in line with COVID-19 protocols.

The statement said: “Many visitors outside the UK are not allowed to participate in the event due to the global pandemic.

“The annual Islamic conference will open with a Friday sermon by the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad Khalifatul Masih V.

“Special lectures on Islam, guest speeches and global address on the progress of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in all countries will be presented by the Ahmadiyya leader.

“Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in all countries will monitor proceedings virtually at homes and mosques.

“This year’s celebration is coming amidst the challenges of the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.”
