IT was another day of mourning in Kadarko community of Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa state as unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen carried out a reprisal attack on the community, leaving seven farmers dead.

Speaking to our correspondent, at the scene of the incident, an elder in the area who gave his name as Targba Tyo said that what saved the entire people of kadarko was the resistance by their dogs.

“We were deep asleep when we suddenly heard dogs barking at them as they gradually surrounded the area. They were in large numbers, well armed and divided themselves into groups but when the dogs were making too much noise, one of the herdsmen decided to use one bullet to eliminate one of the dogs that was disturbing and the sound of the gun made us wake up, but they were able to kill seven and injured two”, he said.
