Afe Babalola, Fayemi headline former minister’s book on Africa’s security challenges

A new book ‘Africa’s Security Challenges In the 21st century’ written by a former Minister for Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, is set for public presentation on Thursday, March 3rd 2022, in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The book which comes in the face of the current security challenges across the African continent is aimed at appraising the security situation in Africa with a view to proffering concrete solutions to the debacle in Africa.

Prof. Adeniran, who is a respected scholar, renowned author and experienced diplomat, is believed to have put his wealth of research and practical experience into the book and produced a formidable intellectual property that will serve as vital resource material to help the stakeholders tackle the current security issues affecting world peace and social order.

The book is considered to be “an incisive strategic analysis of the world’s political outlook and Africa’s security imperatives to bring about sustainable peace, meaningful democracy, justice, equitable development and advantageous global presence in a world of unsettling scenarios”.

Expected at the book presentation which will be chaired by Kayode Falowo, Chairman, Greenwich Merchant Bank are eminent personalities and top dignitaries from all walks of life. The Governor of Ekiti State and the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, will be the Special Guest of Honour at the event while the father of the day is Aare Afe Babalola SAN, foremost legal luminary and the founder of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD). Gbenga Oyebode, Principal Partner, Aluko and Oyebode Law Firm will be the Chief Presenter.

The author of the book, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, who has authored dozens of books, was the Nigerian Minister of Education between June 1999 and January 2001. He was also an Ambassador of Nigeria to Germany from 2004 to 2007. Before moving into politics in 1998, Prof. Adeniran retired as a political science lecturer at the University of Ibadan after many years of lecturing in Nigeria and in America. He hails from Orin-Ekiti, in the Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
