Osun state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has delivered on his promise to improve the quality of education in the state, as he commissioned the newly rehabilitated Dagbolu Community Primary School in Olorunda Local Government Area.

Represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, the governor emphasized the commitment of his administration to the improvement of education, with the project facilitated by the Osun Community and Social Development Agency (Osun CSDA).

“We gather here today to witness the fulfilment of one of the promises we made at the inception of our administration,” Adeleke said.

“The evidence of our commitment to the implementation of inclusive education, the commitment of promise to launch reform with a direct focus on improvement of the learning environment and outcome to reverse poor performance of students in public institutions.

We are here to move Osun State forward in the area of education, putting the decaying infrastructures back in shape.”

The project involved the rehabilitation of two blocks of eight classrooms, a reticulated borehole water system, a fence and gatehouse, VIP toilets, and a playing arena.

Adeleke implored the community and the school authority to ensure adequate maintenance and sustainability of the projects so that future generations could also benefit from them.

“Research has shown that an enabling learning environment increases students’ attention and focus; promotes meaningful learning experiences, encourages higher levels of students’ performance, and motivates students to practice higher levels of critical thinking skills,” Adeleke added.4

“In other words, a positive classroom environment will always motivate students to learn, remove negative emotions such as stress, and other things that impede teaching and learning.”

“Children are the future of any community, and investing in their education is an investment for the future,” Abokede said.

“Education is the key to eliminating inequality and reducing poverty; hence, the implementation of this project in this Community Primary School, here in Dagbolu, to provide a conducive place for teaching and learning.”

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Mojisola Ojo, expressed her gratitude to the governor for his intervention in the school, stating that the school was not recognized as a school before his intervention.
