Abduction of school students not acceptable, Senate President tells new service chiefs

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said the abduction of school students was no longer acceptable and should be surmounted by the nation Security Chiefs.

He made the remarks on Tuesday after the Senate confirmation of the new Service Chiefs.

The Senate Joint Committee on Defence, Army, Navy and Air Force last week screened the new Service Chiefs at the national assembly.

Those whose appointment were confirmed sequel to the screening by the joint Senate Committee led by former Sokoto State governor, Aliyu Wammako are Major – General Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea lrabor as Chief of Defence Staff; Major- General Ibrahim Attahiru (Chief of Army Staff); Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, (Chief of Naval Staff); and Air Vice Marshal Isiaka O. Amao as Chief of Air staff.

The President of the Senate asked the new Service Chiefs to take the war on banditry and insurgency to the hideouts of the criminal elements.
