Newly promoted officers of the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Police have been asked not to be deterred by the daunting challenges confronting the personnel of the force.
They were also charged to be more courageous and confident in overcoming such challenges.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Adamu Usman gave the advice at the decoration of newly promoted officers of the command at a colourful ceremony held at the Police Officers in Minna, the state capital.
Represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police administration, Mr Shawulu Ebenezer Dan Mamman, the Commissioner of Police maintained that fighting insurgency is a task that must be won at all cost.
Mr. Adamu Usman stressed the need for them to be more committed and dedicated to the discharge of their duties.
He also reminded them that promotion comes with enormous challenges and responsibility, therefore, charged them to use it as a stepping stone for further glory in their carrier.
CP Adamu Usman applauded both the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, for recommending such names for promotion to the Police Service Commission and their subsequent approval.
Speaking on behalf of decorated police officers, Supretendant of Police Simon Ikpelemoh, assured that the newly promoted Officers will justify the confidence reposed in them by both the IGP Police Service Commission and the State Commissioner of Police Niger state Command, Mr Adamu Usman.
Nigerian Tribune, however, gathered that among the 571 promoted police officers, from Niger State three of them were promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police and seventy-three from Assistant Superintendent of Police to Deputy Superintendent of Police including the state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun.
