2023: Elect leaders with intelligence, not money-minded ones, Cleric advises Nigerians

The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church International (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume, has advised Nigerians to elect intelligent politicians into a position of leadership in the 2023 elections.

He said this in his sermon at the special thanksgiving service to round off the 2021 Convention of the Church tagged “The Verdict”, that the electorate must elect business-minded people into power and not mere politicians who have nothing to offer the populace.

Achudume who had in the audience the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, appreciated the governor for his effort in developing the state with various infrastructural projects.

The cleric said Nigerians should avoid politicians with the crowd, however, admonished them to support and vote for administrators with credible track records.

“What we need is for Nigerians to choose leaders with intelligence, leaders who are business-minded, not leaders who are money-minded or those who come to the office and think they are doing us a favour and begin to throw crumps at people.

” We need credible leaders and administrators at the helms of affairs, even as Ministers, Governor or President, not those who have followers, but those who can do the work of building the nation.”

He lamented that there are too many beggars across the length and breadth due to the state of the nation while encouraging Nigerians to learn to work with their hands to make ends meet.

He said: “There are too many beggars on earth, even in Nigeria. When we work with our hands, only then we will prosper. God blesses the work of your hands, not what the government drops for you as crumps.

“If Nigerians can trust in God, trust in their innate ability; the talent God gave to them and put their hands to work, the same God who has prospered this nation for years will prosper the works of their hands.”

In his remarks, Governor Udom, commended Achudume for being a “teacher of the word.”

He noted that the man of God had not for once deviated from serving God since their days as undergraduates at the University of Lagos.

Udom promised to serve the people of Akwa Ibom diligently, promising more developmental projects for the state.
