2023: Ajimobi’s ex-spokesperson declares to contest Reps seat

Former Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy to the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Bolaji Tunji has declared his intention to contest in the 2023 general elections.

Tunji will be contesting for the Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement, Tunji said his declaration to run was informed by the need to give dynamic, passionate, serious representation to his constituents.

He added that he decided to throw his hat into the political ring because of the need to contribute his quota and deliver good governance to this the people of this federal constituency and the state, at large.

Tunji said, “We have always called for good governance and often criticized bad governance. It is time to practice what we have always preached- relevant, impactful, responsive and exemplary governance.

“The people of the constituency need able, capable, dynamic, passionate and serious representation, devoid of sentiments. They need someone that will work in their interest and bring the dividends of democracy to them. The era of picking candidates based on sentiments is over.

“What people need is someone who would represent them, who is serious and has the capacity to speak and act in their interest.”

Tunji was pioneer Managing Director and Editor in Chief of New Telegraph newspaper and Executive Director and member of the Board of the Sun newspaper before joining the administration of the late former governor Ajimobi as the governor’s spokesperson.
