2022 budget: Senate gives sub-committees deadline to submit reports

The sub-committees of the Senate has till November 24 to submit a budget report to the appropriations Committee.

The directive is contained in the budget hearings guideline released by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Barau Jubril, after his meeting with All Standing Committees Chairmen.

According to the guidelines released by Senator Barau, the budget hearings and engagement with Ministries, Department and Agencies by Appropriation sub-committees will hold between October 18 till November 5.

“The public hearing by the Appropriations Committee will hold between November 8 and 9, submission of Defence of the budget.

“Coalition/Harmonisation of reports by Appropriations Committee will start by Thursday 25th of November till Tuesday, December 7, 2021

“Printing and distribution will be between Wednesday 8 till Monday, December 13, 2021, and Laying and Presentation will be held on Tuesday, December 14 and consideration and passage scheduled for between Wednesday 15th – Thursday, December 16, 2021.”
