2019: APC’ll be voted out in Lagos by wide margin ― Agbaje

Published by

GOVERNORSHIP candidate of Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Jimi Agbaje, has said that, come 2019, the government of All Progressives Congress (APC) will be voted out in the state by a wide margin, restating that Lagosians from all segments were tired of the prevailing status quo of “one man rule.”

Agbaje said this while speaking at a youth Town Hall meeting organised in honour of the the PDP’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who was on campaign visit to Lagos on Monday.

This was just as the PDP gubernatorial candidate accused the APC of doing all it could to subvert its campaign efforts ahead of the poll scheduled to hold next year March.

Agbaje, who spoke in pidgin English, assured the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar that the PDP was coasting home to victory, saying it was about setting Lagos free and ending the reign of godfatherism in the state.

“We have been on this for sometime and I can tell you that our campaign is for thè freedom of Lagos. We are saying no more ‘baba sope’ (godfatherism),” he said.

“The only solution (for winning) that they (APC) have now is rigging,” declaring that the ruling party in the state was now jittery of impending defeat hence it had recourse to vandalism of the PDP’s campaign assets.

“Them dey fear but I tell them sey, them never see anything yet. Over the weekend they were tearing and removing our posters and billboards,” Agbaje said.

“When they remove our billboards; we will put another ones. When they tear our posters, we will paste new ones,” he added.

“I can assure you that as long as the people of Lagos are concerned they know who to vote for. If you go to the market and you ask the market women they will tell you that they know where to vote. All the people of the state know where to cast their votes,” he further added.
