Commander 18 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Taiye Ahmed, has charged troops to remain focused, disciplined, and loyal to constituted authority.

Ahmed gave the charge when he hosted frontline troops of his Brigade to a special New Year lunch at the Brigade Tactical Headquarters, Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, on Jan. 1, 2025.

In his opening remarks, Ahmed delivered the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. O.O. Oluyede’s New Year goodwill message to officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army.

Oluyede appreciated the officers and soldiers for their sacrifices and untiring commitment in tackling the numerous security challenges facing the country.

The Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmadu Attahiru II, represented by Hakimin Tegina, Alhaji Garba Bako, appreciated the Nigerian Army for establishing the 18 Brigade Tactical Headquarters at Tegina.

Bako also commended the troops for their swift and timely responses to security threats in their areas of responsibility.

The troops and dignitaries were treated to a variety of cuisines and drinks, while the troops were served by the Commander 18 Brigade with the assistance of other District Heads and security agencies in the LGA.

The occasion also featured riddles, jokes, and other relaxing events and was concluded with prayers from the chaplains for a successful and prosperous year 2025.

The event was hitch-free, with the troops departing back to their various Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) after lunch.
