11 students have benefitted from VOA Scholarships so far — NGO

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Values of Affordable Education Charity (VOA) has disclosed that eleven students have benefitted from its scholarships so far.

The Founder, Dr. Olabisi Adekoya made this disclosure known to newsmen while giving account of stewardship of the Organisation on Wednesday in Lagos.

Olabisi said four of the eleven are private university students in Nigeria.

She noted that the remaining seven students are for non- traditional tertiary education in Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya.

The Founder said that the number of students in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya have benefitted from the organisation’s 1:1 virtual mentoring program are 18 with seasoned mentors in STEAM and life coaches.

Meanwhile, she announced the opening of Cohort three in February 2025.

“So far, we have given 11 students VOA scholarships. Out of which four are private university students in Nigeria.

“Others are scholarships to non traditional tertiary education in Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya.

“Till date, the number of students in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya have benefitted from our 1:1 virtual mentoring program are 18 with seasoned mentors in STEAM and life coaches.

“Cohort 3 opens in Feb 2025 and details will be on our website.” She said

Speaking further, Adekoya said the organisation built new partnerships and collaboration with Metroeyes optometry as this amplified their back to school supplies events, noting that 12 out of 70 students screened were found to need prescription glasses.

She added that the school at Ibah, Lagos were also given a health talk on how to preserve their vision.
