As Christians across the country prepare to celebrate Easter, the Zone 10 Police Headquarters, Sokoto, has announced the deployment of enhanced security measures across Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States to ensure a peaceful and safe celebration.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of the Zone, Gyogon Grimah, has directed the Commissioners of Police in the three states to intensify patrols, strengthen surveillance, and deploy adequate personnel to protect lives and property before, during, and after the festivities.
According to a statement issued by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Uthman Muhammad Yaqub, the AIG also ordered the activation of the zone’s intelligence network to identify and neutralize potential threats.
“He emphasized that officers and men under the zone have been tasked with maintaining law and order and ensuring a hitch-free Easter holiday”.
While extending his goodwill message to Christians in the zone, AIG Grimah wished them a happy Good Friday and Easter celebration.
“He also called on them to use the season to pray for continued peace, unity, and harmony across the zone and the nation at large”
The police assured residents of their commitment to maintaining security and urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
