The Senator Representing Zamfara West Senatorial area Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has donated fifteen trucks of assorted grains to victims of the flood in Gummi town and its environs, assured of rebuilding destroyed houses for the victims.
Senator Abdulaziz Yarim made the pronouncement today when he paid visit to the emir of Gummi Justice Lawal Hassan to commiserate with the victims and Gummi emirate over the incident in the area
He explained that the grains comprised five trucks of Maize, five trucks of rice, five trucks of millet, five thousand mattresses and ten thousand blankets for the victims of flood in the area.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari maintained that the committee he set to ascertain the level of damages of flood in Gummi town will hand over the items donated to Gummi emirate for distribution to the affected victims.
“I assure to assist those affected, the committee under my office will work closely to ensure houses destroyed as a result of the flood will be rebuilt.
He described the incident as an act of God, and urged people in the local government to desist from making building on the waterways for their safety in the area.
In his remarks, the emir of Gummi Justice Lawal Hassan commended the senator.
