THE registrar, Zamfara State College of Education, Maru, Mallam Lawal Sabon Garin Kurya, has disclosed that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has earmarked N400 million as intervention to the college for 2019.
While appreciating the agency for its support, the registrar said the college, which was established in 2000, had continued to progress both in character and in learning.
“Our college is very much safe for students. We have conducive atmosphere for learning; students are adequately taken care of, security-wise,” he said.
He disclosed that from inception to date, the college had graduated 15 sets of students, totaling 15,382 students (both men and women) from the college.
The registrar explained that presently, the college runs 24 functional accredited departments with qualified teaching staff in various disciplines.
He also disclosed that the college would soon commence degree programmes in affiliation with Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He appealed for the continued support and cooperation from the host community of Maru town.
