Zamfara AGILE begins enrollment drive campaign

The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project in Zamfara state, has embarked on sensitization campaign on enrollment drive across the state.

The sensitization campaign was flagged off on Thursday across the Senatorial zones of Zamfara state with an aim to mobilize community leaders, religious leaders Civil society organizations, and Non-governmental organizations on community engagement enrollment drive campaign the important of girl child education.

Speaking during the sensitization and awareness campaign held at Talata Mafara town, AGILE facilitator Dr Rabiu Shehu highlighted the important of Education with particular reference on Islamic religion, added that education is the bedrock of every development.

Dr.Rabiu further explained that AGILE is a world Bank-supported project in collaboration with state government to enhance quality education for girls child.

He further disclosed that AGILE project is carefully designed to address the barriers that hinder girls’ access, retention, and completion of secondary education.

“AGILE clear mandate is to ensure that girls enroll, remain in school,and successfully complete their education,and expanding empowerment opportunities for adolescent girls,” he mentioned.
