In light of the Yuletide season, which includes Christmas and the New Year, typically marked by high human and vehicular movement along with religious and socio-economic activities, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has ordered a large-scale deployment of police personnel and operational assets to ensure a peaceful holiday season in the state.
The command made this known in a press statement issued to journalists on Thursday in Minna by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Wasiu Abiodun. The Police Commissioner also directed Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to ensure adequate deployment of officers and resources at key locations, especially places of worship, recreation centers, amusement parks, motor parks, and highways, to provide security throughout the season.
“The CP further instructed officers to strictly adhere to the operational orders for the season, emphasizing intelligence-led and visible policing while respecting human rights. This will ensure the safety of travelers and smooth traffic flow on the roads,” the statement continued.
CP Danmamman also highlighted that in addition to routine township patrols under Operation Flush, the police would conduct regular raids on crime hotspots as a proactive crime prevention measure, with quick responses to any incidents.

The CP appealed for continued vigilance and public support for the police and other security agencies, emphasizing the importance of sharing relevant information to maintain a peaceful environment.
He reassured residents of Niger State that the police command remains committed to providing security, maintaining law and order, and protecting lives and property.
On behalf of the officers and men of the command, CP Danmamman wished all Nigerlites, residents, and Christian faithful a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
