Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has received commendation for repositioning the ministry in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, CONYL, the umbrella body of all the youth groups drawn across the six geopolitical zones handed down this commendation to Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim for repositioning the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the youths in a statement they issued Monday and Signed by the President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, “In just few months in office, the Minister has shown that she came fully prepared to serve humanity which is evidenced in the transformative approaches being deployed in handling issues that relates to the well-being of women, children, and the aged.
“Recent development and results so far have shown that the Ministry of Women Affairs is living up to her bidding of taking care of Gender and Children issues. Issues affecting Persons with Disabilities and the Aged are handled with utmost care and seriousness. The ministry has lived up to its expectations both at the National and International levels”.
The youths maintained, “Under the present leadership of Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman, the ministry has activated programmes that have helped to build a Nigerian Society that guarantees equal access to social, economic, and wealth creation opportunities to all Nigerians, irrespective of gender or tribe.
“We can confidently attest that the ministry places premium on protection of the Nigerian children, the aged and persons living with various degrees of disabilities. The appointment of Hajiya Sulaiman Ibrahim to serve as Minister of Women Affairs has been that of putting a round peg in a round hole. She has indeed performed creditably”.
They used the opportunity to sympathize with President Bola Tinubu, the Ministry of Women Affairs, and the good people of Anambra State “over the death of Nigerians who were mostly women and children that lost their lives in Maitama and Okija stampedes during the sharing of palliatives in Abuja and Anambra State. It is a loss too many”.
They, therefore, appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim who they described as “well educated, experienced, equipped with requisite knowledge and expertise to serve in his administration”.
