Youths urged to take charge of Nigeria’s future

The former Acting President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo World-Wide, Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu, has challenged Nigerian youths to come together and formulate new policies that will guide the country towards a better future.

Speaking at an event organised by the Southern Youth Assembly of Nigeria (SYAN) in Owerri, Ozichukwu emphasized that the current state of Nigeria is a collective fault of everyone, and urged the youths not to condone evil or wrongdoing, but to take responsibility for correcting them.

“Nigeria is corrupt, fantastically corrupt, but it is for all of us to say never again,” Ozichukwu said. “It is not enough to say it, you better do the acting. If we build Nigeria today and tomorrow it will collapse with the next generation, we have not succeeded.”

Ozichukwu also advised the youths to emulate the virtues of past Nigerian leaders who contributed to the country’s unity, growth, and development. He specifically mentioned Edwin Clerk and Bayo Adebanjo, who he said made enormous contributions to the country’s development.

The former Acting President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo World-Wide also praised former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as a listening president, tolerant, and selfless.

The Southern Youth Assembly of Nigeria (SYAN) conferred on Ozichukwu the award of Grand Patron, in recognition of his contributions to the development of the country.

In his response, Ozichukwu assured the youths that he will continue to support them in their quest for a better Nigeria.

The event was attended by delegates from various states, including Imo, Lagos, Ekiti, Oyo, and Ogun.
