Youths hail Mimiko’s return to PDP, pledge support

Published by

Following the return of the former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a former youth leader, Hon. Gbenga Ayenuro, on Saturday, described the steps as a bold move to redirect the compass for better politics in the country.

Ayenuro who commended Mimiko and other stakeholders for dumping the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for PDP, described the development as a huge plus for the PDP family and a major step in the reconciliation and unity the party is building.

According to him, the return of Mimiko to PDP indicated the party’s readiness to rescue the country from the misadventure which the All Progressives Congress, (APC) had plunged the country into.

He said, “I want to salute our leader, Dr Mimiko for his bold decision to join hands with others across the country to redirect the compass for better political engagements and sustenance of our hard-earned democracy.

“His decision should be seen as the best decision to rescue our nation’s democracy from this directionless and clueless government of the President Buhari and APC-led administration.

“In this current debacle of deficient leadership in the country, all hands must be on deck and leaders must unite across the board.

“I strongly believe that our leader’s decision is the best way to go as this will further strengthen the PDP. We all know the heavy political weight of Iroko, that he is a master political strategist that PDP needs now in bouncing back to power both in the state and in the country.

Mimiko has returned back home and we stand with him in this rescue mission to build the party and our beloved country.

“I urge all our youths to key to this rescue mission and build a better future for ourselves. We can’t continue to let the monstrous APC determine our future.
No sector of the economy is performing optimally. It is very bad and we can’t continue like in this state.

“To our leader, I am with you on this path and henceforth, I will begin mobilization of all youths in Ondo state, across southwest and Nigeria at large to join you in rescuing Nigeria from the shambles of shame that the APC has brought to us.”
