Youth leader unveils movement to promote Okun unity

The Okun Youth Alliance Movement, also known as OYA Movement, has been officially unveiled, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards unity, progress, and development of the Okun people.

The movement’s convener, Oladele John Nihi, emphasised the importance of sensitising and reorienting Okun youths to develop a sense of purpose and direction.

He also stressed the need to empower and engage them to unlock their potential and become active participants in community development.

Nihi noted that the movement is anchored on three key pillars, which include sensitisation and reorientation, empowerment and engagement, and politics.

The Vice President of the Pan-African Youth Union, West Africa, explained that through politics, the movement aims to ensure that Okun voices are heard and interests represented at all levels of governance.

The unveiling ceremony, which took place at the Lisa Palm Hotel in Kabba, Kogi, was attended by dignitaries, youth leaders, and stakeholders from across the Okun nation.

Nihi urged everyone to unite their efforts, resources, and talents to build a brighter future for Okun nation and Nigeria.

He expressed his commitment to working tirelessly to ensure the movement achieves its goals and makes a positive impact on the lives of Okun youths.
