The Senator representing Taraba South Senatorial District, in the National Assembly, David Jimkuta, has hailed the Federal Territory Capital (FCT), Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike for making their work easier during budget presentations.
Senator Jimkuta who is the Senate Committee Chairman on FCT area councils and Ancillary matters, stated this on Wednesday during the flag-off of the construction of Mabushi access and internal roads as well as engineering infrastructure in Katampe area of the nation’s capital, Abuja.
The Senator who praised the FCT Minister for always presenting budgets in specifics before the lawmakers, commended him for concentrating more on capital than recurrent expenditure.

He said, “The Senate will continue to accord priority attention to FCT budgets, you make our work easier, you are the only minister whose budgets are concise and straight to the point.
“The minister is not known for constantly inserting procurement of computers and stationery in his budgets, capital expenditures are always higher than the recurrent, the capital expenditure is always like 95 percent.”.
Responding, the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike who expressed appreciation to the National Assembly for always ensuring speedy passage of FCT budgets, said his administration will ensure all contractors are adequately paid to ensure project are completed at stipulated time.
He assured FCT natives and residents of the current administration’s determination to improve their welfare and create jobs for the youth through the construction of more infrastructure across the territory.
Wike also assured the next FCT Minister would not need to worry about abandoned projects or contract variation as his administration will make sure it completes all projects embarked upon.
