Yobe CP felicitates Muslims, assures hitch-free Sallah celebrations

The Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Command, CP Garba Ahmed has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the state for the successful completion of fasting in the sacred month of Ramadan.

The Commissioner therefore facilitated with them on the occasion of the Eid-el-fitr festival noting their resilience and peaceful activities during the fasting period and urging them to sustain the tempo.

According to a statement by the Command PPRO, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, “The Command wishes to assure all the good people of Yobe State of their safety and security before, during and after the Sallah Festivity.”

He added that, “As the Command is committed to deploying personnel and operational assets across the State in public and social places for a hitch free celebration.”

The Commissioner of Police tasked all Police tactical and strategic Commanders, Divisional Police Officers in the state to ensure adequate provision of security to all worshipers in their respective areas of responsibility.

Furthermore, the command will not tolerate any acts of reckless and dangerous driving on the part of motorists.

It warned that those who are in the habit of going about with dangerous weapons, including sticks, knives, and cutlasses during the festive period, should refrain from it.

Also, unlawful gatherings at recreational centres and playing grounds will not be condoned as the Command will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting.

Similarly, members of the public are enjoined to cooperate with security operatives and report any criminal tendencies, suspicious movement(s), Person(s), Objects(s), and Vehicles(s) to the nearest Police station or Security formation stressing, ‘If you see something, say something’ as this may save life.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Garba Ahmed wished the people, a hitch-free Eid-El-Fitr and reiterated the Command’s commitment towards peaceful Sallah celebration in the state.
