Yewa North LG chairman lists workers’ support as key to administration’s success

The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Mr Gabriel Ogunyomi, has disclosed that success recorded by administration in policy implementation, project execution, among others, was hinged on the cooperation and support of civil and public servants in the council.

Ogunyomi, who stated this during inauguration of the renovated administrative block of the local government secretariats in  Ayetoro, noted that the workforce was indeed the engine room and backbone of any administration both at the local and state level.

He enjoined them to continue to support successful implementation of all government policies and projects.

“My administration will continue to commend the civil servants for being the true backbone and engine room of the government. The workers deserve the best and that is why we are working to clear all the backlog of leave bonuses and other emoluments. I charge our workers to be more dedicated and professional in the discharge of their duties and together, we will achieve the council of our dreams,” Ogunyomi said.

In his remarks, the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ganiyu Hamzat, charged workers to reciprocate the gesture and take further the pride legacy of the public service to greater height as well as improve on the exceptional records of Ogun State workforce by taking full ownership of the project

The governor also enjoined them to bring their vast wealth of experience to bear on their work delivery that will engender the required trust and confidence of the private sector,  cooperation and collaboration, adding they need to work as team for higher productivity

In their separate remarks, former Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi, the Aboro of Ibese land, Oba Oluwaseyi Mulero as well as chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Gabriel Adeosun, commended Governor Abiodun for his support, which facilitated the execution of projects to the area.

They also commended the chairman for complementing the state government’s developmental projects at the grassroots, enjoining the host communities to make judicious use of the project in their area.
