Why we are yet to make any statement on Sen Melaye’s certificate ―ABU spokesman

The spokesman for the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed has cleared the air on why the university is yet to make any statement on Senator Dino Melaye certificate scandal.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Nigerian Tribune on Thursday, the university image maker revealed that the university is yet to receive any formal letter from any person or institution regarding whether the senator graduated from the university or not.

“Not even the Senate had written to the University for Verification. So as an institution we have our own ways,” he declared.

“I am appealing to the media to know this, and the fact that I am the PRO does not give me the temerity to speak. The media should reason with us and if they want any information they can write as a body.”

It would be recalled that Senator Dino had in recent times been indicted by one of the online medium that he had not graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University.

According to the report, he did not complete the Geography course in which he claimed to have studied while in the university thus prompting Senator Ali Ndume to ask the Senate to investigate the certificate scam.
