Yahaya Bello calls for political cohesion in Kogi

The former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has called on Kogi lawmakers to strengthen political unity in the state and give total support for the Governor, Ahmed Ododo.

He made the appeal when prominent political figures from Kogi State, including members of the House of Representatives, the Deputy Majority Leader, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Halims, and Hon. Leke Abejide of the ADC, alongside members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, supporters, and well-wishers, gathered for Ramadan Iftar with former Governor Yahaya Bello.

The event, originally a spiritual gathering, soon transformed into a strategic political discourse, where Bello called on lawmakers representing Kogi State in the National Assembly to continue standing firmly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in support of his administration’s progressive policies and national development agenda.

Bello in his address said “I emphasized the importance of unity among political stakeholders in the state, you should embrace cohesion and solidarity and also rally your full support for the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo.

His words, “Collective effort and political stability were crucial for sustaining the developmental strides initiated during his tenure and ensuring continuity under the new administration.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Halims reaffirmed their firm loyalty to both the former governor and the incumbent governor.

“This gathering as a testament to the unity and strength of Kogi’s political leadership, our collective goal is to build a strong political family that remains united in advancing the interests of the state.

Similarly, Hon. Leke Abejide of the ADC also in the House of Representatives commended Yahaya Bello’s political foresight, describing his decision to support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as divinely inspired.

He stated that Ododo’s leadership has successfully sustained the existing unity among Kogi’s diverse ethnic groups while fostering peace and development.
