World Breastfeeding Day: Rotary Club adopts 30 nursing mothers in Oyo

Rotary Club of Ibadan in collaboration with Omotayo Maternity and Nursing Home has adopted 30 pregnant women at Omotayo Maternity and Nursing home

Speaking during a visit by the club to the nursing mothers who gave birth in the month of July at the Maternity home, the President, Rotary Club of Ibadan, Rotarian Kolawole Shittu Adebisi explained that the gesture is in line with one of the Rotary Club area of Focus  ‘Maternal and Child Health care’.

While he added that the visit was also meant to advocate for exclusive breastfeeding for children from birth to six months of age.

The project also includes the distribution of free antenatal care, free child delivery and post-natal support for women.

He said “ Rotary Club of Ibadan is in partnership with Omotayo Charity Foundation, Atinutobi Initiative Foundation and Resogo Foundation in carrying out the current Rotary year Maternal and Child Health Projects which include adoption of 20 pregnant women at Apete Health Centre and 30 pregnant women at Omotayo Maternity and Nursing Home, Oke Ado.

One of the beneficiaries Mrs Taiwo Abayomi thanked the Rotary Club of Ibadan and Omotayo Charity Foundation and other partners for their kind gesture.
