The secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), in Ogun State, has been sealed off by armed policemen and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This development was as a result of the industrial action embarked on by workers in the state under the aegis of the Joint National Public Negotiating Council (JNC), over 12 months unremitted deductions, unremitted 72 months gratuities, 2015 promotion, among other issues.
When the Nigerian Tribune visited the secretariat, two operational patrol vehicles were stationed at the entrance of the secretariat.
While security operatives numbering about 40 were seen around the place.
It was same situation at the two roads leading to the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, armed security operatives were positioned strategically.
Workers complied with the organized labour directive, as they failed to turn up for work despite government threat of “no work, no pay” rule.
Nigerian Tribune who went round the secretariat complex observed that only a handful of workers and some top government officials were at work.
Most of the car parks within the government secretariat were empty as at 8.45 am.
