The Police prosecutor, Inspector Ona Glory informed the court that the accused committed the offence on July 1, 2018, at about 5.30 pm around Modakeke in Ife North East local government area of Osun State.
She further explained that the suspect allegedly stole 18 days old baby, Adebode David, son of Mr and Mrs Adebode Peter, stressing that the offence contravened Section 371 (1) of the Criminal Code, Law of Osun State, 2003.
But, Bunmi, who was arraigned on one count charge of baby theft pleaded not guilty.
Her defence counsel, Barrister Alaba Awoseemo made an oral application for bail on behalf of her client, assuring that she would not jump bail and also provide sureties.

Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji declined to grant the bail application to the accused person but directed her counsel to bring a written application for the consideration of her bail.
Olatunji ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesa prison custody, pending the ruling on the bail application. The case was adjourned to July 23 for mentioning.
