A female animal handler has been hospitalised after being mauled by a tiger while working at Dreamworld, Australia’s largest amusement park, according to local media reports on Monday.
The woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition with injuries to her arm, as reported by the Australian Associated Press (AAP).
A spokesperson for Dreamworld confirmed the incident, stating, “Dreamworld acknowledges an incident that occurred involving one of the park’s tigers and a trained tiger handler.
“This was an isolated and rare incident, and we will conduct a thorough review accordingly.”
Dreamworld, located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, is home to nine Sumatran and Bengal tigers.
