We will reclaim S/West —PDP leadership

Published by

THE leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West geopolitical zone has said the party is ready to reclaim the political control of the region and maintain its dominance in Ekiti State beginning with the governorship election in the state next year.

The party also expressed gratitude to members and supporters for remaining resolute in the face of the leadership crisis that recently rocked it.

In a statement, on Monday, by the Zonal Publicity Secretary, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo, the party also stated that with the success recorded through the conduct of the party’s non-elective national convention, the party had been reinvigorated to wrest power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming elections.

“The South -West zone of PDP under leadership of the National Vice Chairman (South West), Dr Eddy Olafeso, hereby expresses profound gratitude to all our leaders and loyal members in the zone, especially for standing by the zonal executives throughout our struggles till today.

“The appreciation becomes imperative as your unalloyed support, resilience and doggedness for over 14 months ahead of this well-deserved triumph of truth and justice really showed your love for the membership of our party and Nigerian citizens.

“While we look forward to seeing your continuing determination to uphold the cause of justice, equity and good governance in all areas of administration, we cannot but appreciate you for a huge confidence and responsibility reposed in the Eddy Olafeso-led zonal executives.

“Without mincing words, the zonal executives are prepared to pilot the political affairs of the South-West states to an enviable height.

“The zonal officers are also prepared to heal the wounds of our party, within and outside PDP, in each of the six states in preparation for the forthcoming elections.

“Once again, we hope to see your unflinching support towards the achievement of our supreme goal of reclaiming the  South -West for our  party, “ he said.
