Will Harry Kane Complete Summer Switch To Bayern Munich?

Published by

The future of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been one of the biggest transfer stories in the world of football this summer.

Kane has reportedly grown tired of Spurs’ failure to win silverware and with time running out on his career the England international has reportedly told the English Premier League side that he wants to move on this summer.

The 30-year-old has repeatedly been linked with Manchester United over the years, but German giants Bundesliga emerged as the leading contender for his signature in recent months, and the player is reportedly keen on a switch to the Allianz Arena.

And why wouldn’t he be? Bayern have been crowned Bundesliga champions in each of the last 10 seasons, have won the German Super Cup in six of the last seven seasons and continue to be a contender for UEFA Champions League glory.

A move to Munich would certainly give Kane the best opportunity to finally get his hands on a trophy, and reports claim he is willing to give up a large part of his remaining Tottenham salary in order to force through a move to Germany before the window slams shut.

The player wants the move. The German club wants the player. All that needs to happen now is for the two clubs to agree terms and strike a deal. But will it remain that straightforward?

A new suitor for Kane’s signature has emerged in the form of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, and that should come as no real shock considering the spending spree the Saudi top flight has been on in recent months.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival sparked a mass influx of big-name European talent, with Karim Benzema and Jordan Henderson two of the latest stars to join the Pro League, and there will be many more huge stars accepting mega-money offers in the future.

Could Kane be one of them? Al Hilal are reportedly considering a world record bid for the striker, whose contract with Tottenham expires at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Leading bookmakers are predicting it is more likely to head to the Bundesliga and to Munich but the Saudi club could make an offer that is simply too good for Spurs to turn down, with Kane able to leave on a free transfer next summer, so this latest development could be one to watch in the coming days and weeks.
