An aide to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Dr Samuel Udo Atang, has been awarded a fellowship by the FCT College of Education (COE), Zuba, FCT.
Dr Atang, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Administration, received the prestigious fellowship award during the College’s third combined convocation ceremony in Zuba yesterday.
An award letter seen by the Nigerian Tribune reveals that Atang, who retired in September as the pioneer Head of Service for the FCT Civil Service, was honoured for his “hard work and dedication towards improving and sustaining administrative standards for civil servants in the FCT.”
Atang received the award alongside two other distinguished Nigerians for their contributions to the growth and development of the FCT and Nigeria. The other awardees are Prof. Paulinus Chijeoke Okwelle, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu of the Department of Information and Media Studies, Bayero University, Kano.
The Nigerian Tribune reports that a total of 6,068 graduates, comprising 4,625 NCE regular students and 1,443 NCE part-time students, were conferred with the Nigeria Certificate in Education during the convocation ceremony.
