Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike has assured residents, particularly those living in rural areas that the current administration is determined to ensure they feel the impact of governance.
The minister gave the assurance on Thursday while flagging off the construction of a 1.7 km interdistrict road otherwise known as the collector road and engineering facilities connecting the Daki biyu, Utako, Jabi and Wuye districts of Abuja.
Wike announced that having carried out four consecutive days of flagging-off of new projects within the city centre, his administration will be revisiting the six area councils from next Monday to commence another round of construction of people-impacting projects.
While expressing appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for giving priority to rural dwellers in the FCT in his project distributions, he noted that the aim was to improve their welfare and raise their standards of living.
While speaking on the need to improve the aesthetics of the capital city in line with modern-day realities, Wike disclosed that his administration will soon embark on the upgrade of Garki Area 1 and other old neighbourhoods in the capital city that that are in dire need of facelift.
