My wife is a prostitute —Man

An Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State has saved the 19-year-old union between a traditional doctor and his wife, a beautician, from divorce.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the marriage almost collapsed when the 57-year-old petitioner, Ameen Oluwa, approached the court seeking its dissolution, over his wife’s alleged infidelity.

Oluwa, who resides at Ewu Oloye, in the Eruwen Area in Ikorodu, also alleged that his wife was maltreating him and was also disrespectful.

“My wife is a prostitute. I have caught her on several occasions, with different men. She does not take care of me and our children. She also doesn’t take to correction,’’ he said.

However, the court president, Mrs Omolara Abiola and other members of the court successfully reconciled the couple after several counselling sessions and family interventions.

During reconciliation, Abiola ordered the 37- year- old wife, Taibat, to sign an undertaking to be a good wife.

The mother of four also pledged to be of good behaviour.

The wife had earlier pleaded with the court amidst tears, to save her marriage.
