The wife of the Governor of Osun State and President Ileri-Oluwa Development Initiatives, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, has expressed her commitment to bettering the lives of the less privileged people through her NGO, IleriOluwa Development Initiatives (IOD), in the state.
Through the NGOShe, distributed food materials and cash donations to the aged, widows, and other less privileged people in Iragbiji and its environs.
Speaking at the programme held in Iragbiji, the headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area of the state, during the third in the series of an interface with people on the distribution of the items, Mrs Oyetola pledged to give priority to the well-being of people in the society.
Oyetola stated that this was the third in a series of interfaces with people on the distribution of food materials and cash donations to the aged, widows, and other less privileged people in Iragbiji and its environs.
She explained that her pet project, IleriOluwa Development Initiatives, started close to a decade ago, through which it constantly takes adequate care of the aged, women, widows, and even children.
Mrs Oyetola at the programme in Iragbiji noted that elders are the custodians of the age-old values and cultures which must be upheld all the time by the larger society.
“I must emphasize that the care of the aged at all times would continue to be an avenue to cherish and appreciate them. It is my commitment, through my NGO, IleriOluwa Development Initiatives (IOD), to continue to sustain this ideal among others.
“The best of life is the best of support and assistance which one gives to the people in need. I, therefore, call on governmental and non-governmental organisations to come and partner with my NGO for the soul essence of putting smiles on the faces of these people.
“Giving a helping hand to the people in need is a sure way of uplifting their spirits. We must be committed to this and other philanthropic ideals in Osun state and Nigeria as a whole,” declared Mrs Oyetola.

On the occasion, Mrs Oyetola also paid homage to the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul Rasheed Olabomi, where she told the monarch about the essence and importance of the programme, which basically centres on welfare and philanthropy.
Speaking, Oba Olabomi appreciated Mrs Oyetola for her kind gestures to the aged and widows of Iragbiji and the society at large.
The royal father prayed that God will continue to give her the necessary strength and wherewithal to put smiles on the faces of those in need, which over the years has made Mrs Oyetola a mother par excellence who is always in the forefront of betting a lot of people, especially women and the aged.
A cross-section of the beneficiaries while speaking described the gesture of Mrs Oyetola as priceless and humanitarian just as they urged her to keep it up.
