Abdusalam alleged that his wife was troublesome and was always fighting her. He added that he had had no peace of mind since he got married to her and that he no longer loved her.
Aminant debunked all her husband had said. According to her, he wanted her out of his house because he wants to take a new wife.
The court president, Chief Ademola Odunade, having listened to both parties observed that the love between them had waned.
Ruling, he dissolved their marriage and granted custody of their three children to the defendant.
The plaintiff was mandated to pay N10, 000 through the court monthly as their children’s feeding allowance.
He was also asked to pay the defendant N3, 000 to pack her belongings from his house and another N24, 000 as two years house rent because of their last child who is one year and four months old and the three months pregnancy she was carrying.
Bamidele told the court that: “My lord, I can’t stick having my wife around me anymore. I’m fed up with her and want her out of my life.
“I’ve never enjoyed my marriage for once since we got married because my wife is troublesome and never ceases to fight me.
“She nags and complains over trivial issues and will not and be at rest until these issue result in a fight.
“We start the day with a fight and go to bed fighting because she is always on my nerves and rude to me. We force our children and neighbours out of bed every morning because of her quarrelsome nature.
“She now abandons her responsibilities at home and cares less about my welfare and that of our children. Any time I complain, she will ask me to do my worst.
“Our neighbours are fed up with us because they are always mediating in our differences. Of recent, they started locking themselves indoors any time we start to fight and won’t come out till we are through with it.
“I no more have peace of mind and this is hampering my health. I, therefore, pray that you separate us, “he said.
“My lord, he’s a liar and doesn’t fear God. His family members and our neighbours can testify to it that I’m an easy going person. His aim is to paint me black before the court.
“We have both enjoyed a peaceful marriage until he started dating one of the women he was teaching Arabic. He suddenly changed from the loving and caring husband he used to be and started maltreating me.
“He no more finds anything I do in the home pleasing to him while he addresses me rudely and passes insults at me in the presence of this lady.
“He has stopped giving me the necessary attention and he’s also not bothered about my welfare. He now gives me feeding allowance when it pleases him.
“He kicks and punches me at every given opportunity. I would have been a dead woman by now, but for our neighbours who always come to my rescue, “she told the court.
