Ogbomoso Recreation Club (ORC), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria has said that the reason it is hosting the 200-hour cooking marathon embarked upon by Chef Tope Maggie which may set a new Guinness World Record is that part of its critical role as an entity is to improve the lives of individuals and developing its immediate community.
President, of the club, Dr Akin Oladeji Johnbrown, stated that aside from the aforementioned, if Chef Tope Maggie is able to set the new record, the development will bring prestige to Ogbomoso town, Oyo State and Nigeria.
The cooking marathon by Tope Maggie, an Ogbomoso-born chef started on the ORC premises last Friday as made known by the Club President Dr Akin Oladeji Johnbrown whose focus is to support all events and programmes to foster unprecedented growth and development within the town.
As a prelude to the main cooking event, a round of 9 holes golf kitty was organised by the golf section of the club. The captain of the golf section, Chief Pekun Olaleye, alongside Professor Jide Ajao, the ORC Sport Secretary subsequently paid a solidarity visit to chef Tope Maggie.
Tope Maggie, has now joined the league of Nigerian chefs who have made an attempt at Guinness World Records on marathon cooking.
